180 W Gold efficiency power supply!
Probably it has weird shape.
So if the psu stopped working, say goodbye to the computer.

It's got a 2 year guarantee. After that, you'll probably be able to find cheap used or third party replacements. It's not like this is an obscure brand.

This seems like a good deal, until you look a little closer. It probably only has two DIMM slots, which means you'll want to purchase a pair of 8 GB DIMMS (I'd probably go for 2 x 16GB); but at least it's DDR4 so pretty cheap. Figure another 50 bucks for 32GB if you buy on eBay. And the video output is only HDMI 1.4 or VGA, which means you'll want to add a video card (nothing too fancy, there won't be enough room or power) to get a Displayport or HDMI 2.x output if you want to drive a 4K monitor. The 1TB hard drive is basically a throwaway. The CPU is 4 years old but reasonably powerful, even by today's standards. But after you've paid for the add-ons, it's hard to argue for this over a new mini PC at around the same price.

Exactly, I just bought a Ryzen 7 7840hs with 32gb and 1T SSD for $368 .. pretty hard to beat some of the mini pc's

Its going to be very limited options, proprietary parts. I had an HP Pavilion with a RX 580, they are hard to find replacements and they are way more expensive then they're worth. *that was a few years ago, prices could have changed*

L77487-003 is the 500watt replacement, about $50-60 on ebay.

I had to modify the case a bit, but I was able to fit a 6600 XT in both systems. If you're planning to do the same, I'd recommend going with a smaller, dual-fan model GPU.

I picked up both for $211 each last December. They came with a 512GB M.2 SSD, 8GB of RAM, and an RX 6400 GPU.

The wireless cards occasionally act up on the ones I purchased, so I just made a desktop shortcut to Device Manager. Makes it easy to quickly disable and reenable them.
Since it's a proprietary motherboard, you're stuck using their case.

Warning: Ignore this at your own peril. I will never buy (formerly liked) HP products again. They refuse to provide a verified tiny, tiny, small to host BIOS flash-able file (soft pak) of any old models. YOU need this to flash your BIOS, even with no BIOS upgrades. As the only way to be sure; that you can rule out any malicious BIOS malware, when needed! With firmware not secured then clean installing any hard drive then does not matter. And yes most systems makers are doing this over reach also. Cutting off old models before it's necessary. You do NOT really own your computers and phones this way.

If you can still download your BIOS firmware directly (with check sum that is only from your manufacture of each device) then you should back that up now. Most will find it's too late.

HP and many, can only do this because the firmware of their devices are not open firmware. And some, like Verizon and ATT will NOT even let you boot your own phone "for security". Their financial security, not yours. In fact; you can then neither securely upgrade your current OS, nor install any alternative OS with upgrades. This is more than planned obsolescence and is forced obsolescence, and up to even physically disabling your own devices! Leaving no sure way to tell if any problems are hardware failure/attack, or software caused. And with Android, just for example; a "factory" reset does not go back to any OS tier where you once had boot unlocked. This is not about carrier unlock, Carrier unlock is the law and not what I'm talking about. They love to say your device is unlocked(carrier); but it is LOCKED! Boot lock down (now with no work around) is different. Some US states support your rights of ownership (and to repair) and some do not, yet.

HP and with OS makers, in the name of 'security' have in fact made our OS world not secure. (in)Secure-boot is now a know, not secure attack vector. Like having a screen door on a submarine!

I know it's almost impossible; but we need to only buy systems with OPEN FIRMWARE. Then you could still run closed, or open OS's of your choice, or both. You don't have to delete one, for the other. Spread the word. Let truly competitive companies sell on being OPEN FIRMWARE, with a better product and at a better price. With better open, community support.

I got a very similar pc from costco with a 4600g, I think the specs said hdmi 1.4 but I am able to get 4k 60hz with hdr support, probably due to some picture compression techniques

Very slick deal, I spent 400+ building a similar office system 2 years ago with less storage. just keep in mind upgrading this thing is kind of a pain compared to a standard case. Dont expect to slot in a new mobo or PSU. Even reaching things like the wifi card may be difficult. I bought a similar PC from ebay a few years back and the WIFI card was faulty.
