We deploy EB 845s at work. They're great to work on. Easy access and upgradable. HP has spare parts for nearly all components too.

The only difference I see is the MPN (Manufacturer Part Number).

Current: 61H99UC-I001
Previous: 5R6C2UC-I001
both models are listed on newegg, the one from current listing does not have webcam in tittle on newegg.
When i check the listing on ebay, it says it has webcam included.

the model numbers are confusing.

Hi, which one is the best value? This one or the 2 below? I just need it for normal web browsing and YouTube, email, and Office, nothing intense. Thanks.

Acer refurbished (ebay), $266 or $275 without code.

Or Dell Inspirion, $224 or $249 without code.

depending on how long you plan to use the laptop for.
the one listed here will be better than the two you have linked. It will easily last you 5-6 years.
This is a work grade laptop, and has 2 years warranty included.

though the first one has touch screen and a better cpu but is a acer. Acers are know for issues.

second one is brand new.
Though 8gb ram in today's world will be low. but it is cheapest of all as well.
Ram can easily be updated, but then it is adding to your total cost.

for what you have asked, all of these will work.

Decent, or must buy? I've never purchased a refurbished computer. Generally okay? I'm not a techie! TIA
REFURBISHED can mean a lot of things.... Sometimes it's a heavily used item that has been cleaned inspected and reset to factory specifications other times it's old new stock labeled refurbished because they want to get rid of it..
Gotta be careful with HP though... I personally would not ever again buy an HP laptop. [youtube.com]

On eBay, Certified - Refurbished is the highest grade of refurbished. Like-new condition, but previous thread, someone commented with minor blemishes on the chassis. So, you're still at the seller's mercy.

Agree about HP hinges, but these are mid-range business laptops. It should be more durable than their consumer line.

It does have USBC PD and Thunderbolt dock compatible. I personally had exact one for work and travel with a 65W USB-C PD charger.

Looks like it's back to $279.99 under another listing.

The only real complaint was the trackpad position, not in the middle. It was an excellent laptop and used it daily for 3 years. Before that I had the 840 G6 (Intel CPU) and really liked that one too. I liked it so much I bought another Elitebook as a personal laptop.

Just settled on an Elitebook 1040 G10, very similar laptop but about 0.4lb lighter than 840 series.
