I like the idea the longer battery life and not super worried about compatibility. My concern is recall which is just a feature I want no part of. And I know I can opt out but still just to feel yucky paying for a product that's signature feature arguably is constantly spying on me

While I agree with you, our phones have been doing it for nearly 20 years with & without our consent I'm just glad Microsoft made it opt-in, not opt-out.

Just like every brand, there are good products and bad products. HP has Elitebooks that still allow memory upgrades, which I would commend them for.

These new chips are requiring soldered memory for faster speed and latency. I don't like it either but it is what it is.

The screen on these look very bad in person at the store even after maxing out the brightness. It looks very pale and washed out. That's saying a lot when my super ancient T440 released in 2013 has a screen that looks vastly better (I still use it to this day in conjunction with my Macbook Air M3 15").
