I know people who have all 3 versions in their toolboxes and the original one gets used the most except for the long neck fuel ratchet. That one is the ultimate get into tight places electric ratchet.
Milwaukee made the two Fuel versions because they wanted to make the ratchet head last longer than the original. They just could not make as small as the original.

Proving that bigger isn't always better

- This is NOT an Impact. If a bolt doesn't turn easily, this won't start it. This has low toque.
- If a bolt has thread-locker or is rusty, this MAY not work on it at all.
- This is a power ratchet, even with the need to break them before (and finish them after), it is still a time saver over hand turning.
The 2457-20 does have variable speeds controlled via the trigger; the trigger feels great too by the way. One nice, albeit niche, thing is that's lowest speed is lower than the FUEL version, however its highest speed is also slower. Since this thing has low toque and can go VERY slow, it won't rip plastic, allowing me to use it on e.g. Lifetime furniture. But do so at your own risk and feather the trigger.I think this is worth owning at $64 but set your expectations. This is just good at the "middle part" of tightening/loosening a bolt; the ends will always require a manual ratchet or impact.

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself. I bought one of these two years ago ... and used it once. It is OK for removing nuts/fasteners that are loose, or are near-loose. This tool will save you a few seconds removing a fastener over using a manual ratchet ... that is about it.
