Tested front camera with all others disconnected, and I can't see any difference in video quality between FHD, 2K, and 4K settings. Can't read the license plate of a car standing in the next parking lot row.
My previous azdome m550 2k video is way more clear and detailed.

Really appreciate your direct experience! So would you recommend the 550 or 660 based on your experience? Not worried about the small price difference, just want something to cover me from a consistency & reliability perspective.
Thanks so much!

You were able to see license place on that model?
You apply code?
Two things that fail most often on dashcams are storage cards and battery backup power sources. Specifically, heat related issues cause the failures.
Ideally stick with capacitor-based dashcams for the warmest US climates, or for prolonged use. I cannot confirm if the power backup on this cam is battery or capacitor. Usually if it's unlisted it's a battery and subject to overheating and battery explosion in extreme weather.
The sealed storage should be concerning because it makes this device non-servible and essentially disposable. Memory cards DO often fail, but beyond heat damage the card failures often happen when consumers buy 1.) too small card (increasing card wear) 2.) wrong card class & memory design. MORE IMPORTANTLY if a consumer has a memory card failure, a new storage source can be found extremely easy. A memory failure on this device would be terminal. With memory cards only buy CL10 or higher that are specifically designed for dashcams and absolutely as large as possible... definetly larger than the 128GB on-board storage of this camera. If you go cheap on memory you might as well NOT install a camera. Worst feeling in the world is a corrupted file when you're counting on a video to protect yourself from hundreds/thousands $ loss.
(I've installed and maintained a dozen or so dashcams over 10+ years)
