Compared these with the ones that have multiple outlets and decide to get these with a 4 way splitter instead for multiple zones.

And don't leave it out during freezing weather if that wasn't obvious.

I don't know what the difference is, but this version appears to have the same features for $1 less

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004INGS8S

Actually, looks like the main difference is the brass bib connector vs plastic

Also - this is a great price. These are regularly $25+. I'm debating purchasing one as a backup for when my current one decides to break (and they all will eventually)

Install an arrestor before the timer like this https://www.amazon.com/Sioux-Chie...247&sr=8-4
Make sure the arrestor is pointing upwards.

Please elaborate…never heard of this. Should I be concerned with this timer?

Is that the huge "BANG" sound I hear throughout the house whenever this thing turns off?

The one from op has brass head. I have the same one and the brass head was the reason I got it.

You should get an arrestor, to deal with the water hammer. And yes it's possible that it is damaging things. It can convey an incredible amount of force.

I believe you are experiencing "water hammer". I just wanted to spark discussion. I got scared when I heard about it and just returned it. "Arrestor" seems to be what you want to add. People here are super helpful!
