For $40 more, you can get the G620 which has 6 colors (CMYK plus Gray and Red). Prints come out fantastic on photo paper, even cheap photo paper. Doesn't do duplex though.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Have this one. It is great. You get SOOOO many prints per ink refill. I have printed literally hundreds of photos and thousands of color pages (teacher) and have only recently got low enough on ink to order a refill.
Printer heads do get clogged now and again (as all ink printers do), but they all cleared up with a few uses of the cleaning functions of the printer.

Which is better? This or the Epson ET-2803 for $179 from Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/514027...a56112ae6c

If you only print occasionaly skip inkjets and all the clogged head problems and get a laser printer. Just my opinion.

Not an accurate statement as laser printers also can't do photos.

Not bad, average $215 price. Looks like it has gone as low as $170 a couple times this year.

Anybody have experience with these long term (at least 1-2 years)? Do you still need to remember to do a print or clean every week or so to keep the printhead from clogging?

In my experience every inkjet printer still ends up clogging unless you are using it regularly. But I've never had any experience with these megatank/ecotank printers and have always been intrigued.

Some other questions in case anyone with experience with these happens by:
Do these handle borderless printing okay?
Able to output a lot of copies without page feed/jams or other problems?
Is the printhead a replaceable part? Would be great if there were a cheap generic for that...
I have been using Canon MegaTank GX2020 since beginning of 2024 and I have had Epson EcoTank before that , don't remember the model # but got it from Costco. The Canon is way better than the Epson EcoTank. The Epson clogged pretty quickly and I wasn't able to get in unclogged despite various attempts. The Canon MegaTank is still going strong and during 1 1/2 years I have printed about 900 pages and the ink levels have barely decreased. I do not clean the nozzles. I haven't experienced any paper jams. Overall I'm satisfied with Canon MegaTank than the previous Epson. If you are worried about clogging issues, you can setup a task scheduler which prints an image or any document every week or once in 2 weeks.

Yes. You should. Go back to 2024. Buy an inkjet. While you are then, buy me one too. Past me will repay you but you'll have to find me on SD and explain the situation. My time travel code phrase is "Fig Newton Jumbo Bumblebee Pack". If you say that I will know when you are from. The printer should be a present existence now. I don't see it. Make sure you say the code phrase. Maybe after I hit Post Comment reality will properly align.

My Epson EcotankET2750 clogged up the black and is unusable after 2 years despite power cleaning and purging the print head. Will be recycled soon. Have had good luck with Brother, Canon and HP color laser printers.

No jams with my Epson. Could handle borderless photo printing very well. Epson at the time the print head is hard to repair and not worth the cost. Not sure now.
