Noticed this one includes a 1 year warranty offered from Midea directly. Purchased it with my CC that offers an extended warranty. In reading the prior comments from the link posted by @mja28, it seems this is a hit or miss when it comes to reliability. Anyone deal with a warranty experience after the return period expired?

I ordered this a few months ago and right out of the box it had an error code of EC54. Something about the compressor. Although I was within the return window of Walmart, I called Midea. They were terrible and refused to warranty it stating that it was a refurbished unit and therefore they would not warranty it. I ordered a second one and that one works fine. Russian roulette is correct. Do not plan on Midea offering any warranty.
I did not see the extended warranty plan when I bought it because usually it is on the product page. Looks like the link above might work but that is technically for units to start at $200 and this one is $199.
Then a few days ago, it started emitting this horrible "vinegar" like smell, could not get rid of it and was now worried this was possibly the refrigerant leaking. So boxed it all up and lugged the heavy 80 lb box back to Walmart...the employee hated having to reopen it to confirm the serial number but I've already been refunded in full.
Worst time for this to happen as it's been very hot the past few days, but I'm not willing to gamble on this twice, these are poorly refurbished and ended up buying a new Hisense dual hose tower from Costco instead.
You get what you pay for in this case. Keep ALL the packaging somewhere if you plan to take this gamble and it causes issues within the 90 day return period, you're probably gonna need it.

I'm stuck in this same nightmare right now. Bought the eBay refurb unit (seller is Midea) for $249 with the Allstate warranty, it had the EC54 code from the start. Midea won't cover it because I bought it from them on eBay. Allstate won't cover it because it's still under factory warranty. 🤦🏽 ♂️
In your case, there was another thread where someone reached out to eBay because Midea was unresponsive within the return window, and eBay refunded them back. Even if you are out of the return window, you might want to call eBay and ask them to refund you for the ac and Allstate warranty. You might have better luck with eBay than Midea and Allstate.
