Do these actually last longer than regular energizer batteries? My kids who game eat through AA batteries like crazy. They hate rechargeable ones. So are these worth the money?

In a tv remote or other low energy devices, they won't last much longer because the energy demand is minimal and not continuous. In a bright flashlight, video game, R/C car, camera (or other "high drain" devices), they will last noticeably longer. They are much pricier of course so the cost per runtime alone likely doesn't make financial sense. HOWEVER - the convenience of less frequent battery changes might make it logical. Also, lithium batteries are significantly lighter weight if that is meaningful to your application, and they don't potentially leak and ruin things.

Lithiums are 8-10x longer than alkalines so you're ahead when you consider cost per unit vs alkalines. There's another 24x AA Energizer deal right now for $13 so you can do the math.

AA alkalines are 1.5 v and lithiums are the same. Rechargeables are 1.2 v so there are more incompatibilities with NiMH.

Edit: 8x to 10x is a bit over. That would be more for a low-drain device such as a wall clock. Expect a 1.5x to 2x improvement over regular alkalines in terms of raw mAH.
