You're probably better off just using the direct TV inputs for 144hz capable devices and utilizing eARC for audio back to the receiver. Everything else could be switched through the receiver then.
I'm not certain on the smaller sizes but I know this is a great price for the 98" model. I bought a 98QM7 (not K) for $2,184 with FS and no sales tax from Electronic Express back in April. The cheapest the prior QM7 dropped to was around $2k as well.

Both have 3000 Nits of brightness which is stunning to say the least. My 18" laptop(Predator Helios) has a 1000 nit screen and it's so bright, I had to turn it down to 800 nits or it hurts my eyes. Granted my face is only a couple feet from my laptop, so I did a test and set it 14 feet away and turned it to max 1000 nit brightness. It was still amazingly bright, lol, So a tv with 3000 nits is going to be extremely nice either way.
They both have Dolby Vision and Atmos, so no advantages there. The TCL has Bang and Olufsen sound but we use a true surround system in my house,so we would never use the TV speakers. Also most people I know use soundbars these days, so they don't use the tv speakers either.
Another difference is Hisense offers a standard 2 year warranty, while TCl offers a 1 year warranty. If you purchase with an Amazon credit card, you get an extra year of warranty on electronics. If your a Best Buy paid member($49.99 year), you get 24 months of warranty. I do not know if that is in addition to the manufacturers warranty or it runs concurrent. A Google search seems to indicate it does not extend the manufacturers warranty.
I guess my debate in my head is if the extra 2 inches, plus the 500 extra dimming zones, the extra year of warranty and the extra refresh rate, are worth an extra $599? I wish there was a store near me, where I could go look at them both in person, but our Best Buy doesn't have either on display.

Saw them side by side in the store, the Hisense is a little brighter, but unless you have them side by side at home you'd never know. The 165hz doesn't matter for most people who don't have gaming PCs in their living room or wherever they plan on putting this. The 2 year interest free financing and free installation from BB sealed the deal for me. Saving me hundreds in interest (don't have 2K just laying around right now) . Plus I bought the My Best Buy plus membership for $60 so I can return it if I get buyers remorse or a better deal comes along.. for 60 days instead of standard 15 days. Take the extra $500 you are saving and do something with the family, or buy your wife a gift. Just my opinion.
