Once bursting with life, Kenzera is now rife with lost ancestral spirits. As Zau advances toward his goal, 3 mighty beings lie in wait, fearsome in their strength yet somehow strangely familiar.

Played this with Game Pass, I loved it. But as with any EA game, it's much less of a hassle to actually pirate it than to get it running on the steam deck thanks to that awful launcher of theirs. Might be worth the hassle at this price though. Game itself is awesome.

Played it on Playstation Plus just before it went away. It was a decent game; not too difficult to 100%.
Unfortunately for this game, it came soon after Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and so comparisons were inevitable. This game was a much smaller in scope and therefore paled in comparison. But it's a decent game in its own right. If you like the genre, you should give this game a try. It was enjoyable enough. And it didn't overstay it's welcome.

Quite a few viewers lauded this game for its storyline. The central theme relates with how to deal with loss of a loved one; the game starts with the protagonist having lost his dad recently. It's definitely a unique story spin for this genre, but I didn't find the story particularly well written. If anything, I found it to be uninspiring, and the story beats were written just as you would expect -- teenager angry at the world due to the loss. There was no nuance to it. The game does try but couldn't manage to elicit any strong emotions. But that's alright; I was not looking to be moved by this game anyway.
In the end, it's about the gameplay. It's perfectly competent in that respect; which is all it needed to do. Nothing about the game is exceptional, but nothing is bad either. The African theme aesthetic is colorful and pleasing to the eye. Overall, this game is a perfect palate-cleanser between major game undertakings.
Finally, I think it's a shame that the studio closed down. It was their first game. I do think if they were given the opportunity they would created something better on their follow-up effort. Sad to see so much talent being lost to corporate bean-counting.

I'd rather pay the $8 for it on Steam... and I did.

EA App is trash.
