this is $0.34 more than the Frontpage deal from last week, but still a FP-worthy price imo.

I've been using these for years and they do work pretty well. They do take a few minutes to start working after you turn them on. I've refilled the cartridges, but they definitely don't make it easy. You need to remove a one-way valve and get the refill tip just right to actually fill it. You waste some butane, but it's definitely cheaper than buying them. Never tried DIY'ing the pads though.

These are okay if you're going to a park, camping, etc.

If it's for your house ("patio shield") you're better off just using Cutter backyard bug control.

They make an adapter you can buy on the next day shipping website so don't have to cut or anything. I was skeptical but makes it easy. I think it was 10 bucks or less.

Another thing you have to keep buying expensive cartridges for, no thanks. Maybe good for camping trips or BBQs but I'd rather use a bug zapper for regular use.
