1.75lbs isn't super light but it's a better weight/volume ratio than most osprey packs which tend to be very well made but quite heavy next to modern competitors in the ultralight space. Seems like it would be a good day pack for people who want a high quality bag with a great warranty.
Good day pack, but it's only worth buying if you want the suspended back for ventilation. It's been a huge help for my desert hikes. Ive used it as my personal item and it is a tad long under the seat due to the metal frame, but I haven't been forced to put into the overhead yet
Im looking for a daily backpack for a pretty long japan trip. Would something like this work or is this more designed for hiking? This is probably on the top end of what I would like to spend but little here or there isn't a deal breaker.
Just looking for something lightweight, waterproof or with a built-in cover and comfortable to wear all day. it will mainly be for misc supplies or for carrying around what ever I end up buying that day.
Also, prime days coming up... I wonder if there will be some better deals.
Nice deal. It seems it's on sale everywhere probably because osprey has simply added 2l to the same pack for the regular priced one. Frankly I can deal with 2l less. This is a great pack for day trips or short duration travel.

I think that it is designed for hiking, or a day pack that is carried all day. Most day packs do not come with a rain fly and this one does, which is a bonus.

This is a great backpack for hot summer travel days. The only downside is the lack of interior organization—there's no admin panel or extra pockets inside. However, if you use packing cubes, it can still serve as an excellent travel backpack thanks to its lightweight design and solid suspension system. That said, it's not particularly theft- or slash-proof. While you don't need to worry about that in Japan, I wouldn't recommend this bag for travel in Europe.

I use a osprey quasar 26 for a personal bag all the time, shouldn't be an issue
