318 + 280 is $600, wouldnt it be better to pick up a delta 3?

Maybe but if you already have a river 3 plus the EB is a good choice and flexibility to keep ultra small. And river 3 plus wireless was on for $219.. But again this extra battery add on assuming you already invested in the main unit

Maybe if you need more wattage. The larger Delta 3 power inverter uses/wastes more watts. If you want to power lower wattage stuff then the smaller physical size and less inverter waste/overhead of the River 3 Plus's power inverter is probably the way to go... someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I like that this has the 140w usb-c input, which the delta 3's do not; that gives it an additional charging option.

It might ('waste more watts'), but not by a lot. I did a long-term idle AC-on test and it lasted over 3 days: "65 hrs on, ~95% consumed. ~15W idle" - it's a pretty efficient (and VERY quiet) unit. It also seems to be very efficient with loads. R3 Plus is pretty quiet also, but not as quiet if you get it up to 300-500W load, with something like a gaming computer.

As someone who has both already, I'd definitely go with (another) D3P if I wanted to throw an extra $600 at expanding my portable power options. D3P can be used to feed a 120V manual transfer switch like you'd plug in a little generator, and power some circuits (e.g. fridge, lights, and outlets in a few rooms). Technically the R3P could too, but it'd be very easy to overload.
