Yep, and I think Nikon made mistake with its pricing this morning. These are still some good prices.

I got that lens couple of months ago with Nikon Refurbished and paid well over $1400. The lens came looking brand new and works perfectly.

Now, kind of regret, maybe I should buy 24-120 at $720 and return/cancel my 24-70 order. I have 24, 35, 50, 80 primes anyway.

Don't feel bad about getting the 24-70mm F2.8 over 24-20mm F4 lens. The glass of the 24-70mm F2.8 is unbeatable. I have never shot with the 24-120 F4 lens but I will never trade the glass of the F2.8 lens for an F4 lens.

Just me opinion.

Yeah different purposes, the 24-120 is more of a travel and landscape lens. I would have bought it last night but it didn't come in stock til the price was revised up from $571 to $715.

Tariff pricing adjustments, passing the import cost to the consumer, both Canon and Nikon did it roughly at the same time.

Pretty disappointed with the P950 I purchased for $400 during the last refurb sale. If it was briefly $320 that would make it a lot more compelling though. I just think the Panasonic FZ80D or Canon SX70 HS (harder to find at a good price) and probably other superzooms are a lot more enjoyable to use and have nearly as much reach. They both are so much smaller and lighter and have better autofocus.

nothing to do with tariffs as these refurbs are done in the US.

Maybe not directly on the importation side at the shipyard, but Nikon did a blanket increase of all pricing on the retail side for all products. This was easy to see as the pricing changed mid-sale around 4AM PDT yesterday.

>Notice regarding pricing changes
Melville, NY — At Nikon, we remain committed to providing the highest quality imaging products and value to our customers. Due to the recent tariffs, a necessary price adjustment for products will take effect on June 23, 2025. We will be carefully monitoring any tariff developments and may adjust pricing as necessary to reflect the evolving market conditions. We wish to thank our customers for their understanding and know that we are taking every possible step to minimize the impact on our community.

while the FZ80D and SX70 are decent cameras, the P950 is rated a bit higher on IQ and certainly reach at 2,000mm optical vs 1,200 for the FZ80D and 1,365 for the Canon. Birders love the Nikon for reach, but since a small sensor, it needs good light. The FZ80/FZ80D does a good job with 4k @30fps video and excellent image stabilization. I have the FZ200 and the FZ300 and both have the best IQ of the small sensor zoom cameras IMO and others. Reach is 600mm but the constant f/2.8 across it's full 25-600mm is gives excellent results for stills and video if I do my part.
