I've had the larger set of the Pro S for 25 years. It's still going strong but I'm thinking I could use a fresher Chef's knife and paring knife. At this price it's a steal if it's the same quality. I could always use my old ones for camping.

After seeing it was direct from Zwilling and shipped from Germany, I decided to pull the trigger.

Never ordered through Amazon Germany. Says July delivery. Are there duty taxes or other additional costs?

Materials & Care states "Is the item dishwasher safe? No"

Also somebody asked same question and they answered as "No, the knife set is not dishwasher safe. Hand washing is recommended for this product."

Under the "from the manufacturer" section,
EASY CLEAN UP
Dishwasher safe (it does also read hand-washing recommended)

Every HC steel Zwilling, Wustorf. . . Etc. pro-knife I ever used would spot rust in a dishwasher.

I don't like the bolster. Eventually after sharpening, especially if you have to go to a rough grit for any reason, you will get where the blade cannot reach the cutting board flat and you will have to reduce the bolster on a grinder or similar abrasive.

I have had this set for about 5 years and was washing them in the dishwasher the first couple of years. There were two major issues I noticed with the dishwasher; (1) staining on blades and the "rivet" that goes through the handle and bolster. That rivet became severely discolored and took away from the eye appeal of the knife. The second was the handles did not seem to like what I'll call thermal shock from being sanitized in the dishwasher. The pairing knife handle literally came apart during one wash. It is still usable albeit a bit uncomfortable. JA Henckels customer service was top notch and they replaced it with a nicer looking paring knife no questions asked as the previous "plain" one was no longer made. I did not even have to return the old one. In any case, lesson learned and I don't place them in the dishwasher any longer and I don't want to abuse the excellent customer service that I was shown.
