For what it's worth to anyone considering buying, these were some of the worst bibs I've ever used. I've ridden a large range of different bike bibs from Rapha Pro tier all the way down to various Amazon bibs, and these fell apart quicker than any other pair, even compared to the cheapest knockoffs. It was like every wear and wash the Adidas bibs became looser and looser all over (yes, always washed cold and properly hang dried). I wouldn't buy these ever again even at this price.

Great outfit. Haven't tried it for biking yet but works great for those late night trips to walmart when I don't want to mess with putting on a shirt.

I'm looking to try out bibs for the first time. Mountain biking and road, what would you recommend? Recommendations for specific bibs or features/qualities would be appreciated! Thanks!

Depends on how much you ride. If you ride frequently, I recommend spending as little as possible for decent stuff so that you can ride a whole week without doing extra laundry. Great entry level bibs: NeoPro, The Black Bibs. I would normally recommend TwinSix, but looks like their pricing has gone up. Or search the discount section of CompetitveCyclist or any discounted big name brand stuff so you can try different fits/chamois (padding). You can save money buy buying bib-liners for mtb, which are meant to be worn under baggy shorts. You can use old road bibs as bib-liners once they get old, but don't use a new road bib under baggy shorts since they can wear funny from the baggy shorts.
Also, do not wear any kind of underwear underneath your bibs.
