Doesn't the new M12 Gen 2 Stubby make this one obsolete? It's much smaller and lighter and is only short 100 lb/ft? Might as well get the Gen 2 stubby and get the M18 hi-torque with the ugga-duggas for the rusty suspension bits than get this one.

This? Not necessarily, especially in terms of overall runtime. But the new M12 with 550 ft-lbs and the M18 high-torque (1500+ ft-lbs) seem like an ideal pairing yes.

M18 batteries have more (storage) capacity, so if you're using it a lot, one battery will last longer before the power starts to wane. 12V*5AH HO = 60Wh vs 18V*6 = 108Wh
M18 should be somewhat more effective on stubborn lugs, especially as the battery charge starts to wane.

I'm surprised they didn't release an M18 version of the 550 ft-lb stubby but it's surely coming sooner or later.
