I'm having trouble finding the deal. It is showing me a higher price.
Can someone share the link for this: QHD+ 240Hz OLED, Intel Ultra 7 255HX, RTX 5080 - 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD - $1999.99
I can customize it if the link doesn't have it customized.

Ignore the above, found it. However, shipping is July 18 -_-

Just take in consideration it is the worse performer among the competition with similar specs. If you don't care about the occasional thermal throttling and drop in FPS, its a good laptop.

Like with previous generations, I can see many people returning them, so watch out for those refurbished deals that will flood the market soon with even better prices.

For a better and more stable gaming experience, get the Lenovo or the MSI.

Really need touch. That's not an option in this line?
I've read touchscreens have a negative impact on image quality. You really want that for a gaming laptop? Realistically, if that's the case, you have a very niche need. Or, if you don't game, I'll bet you can find a less powerful, less expensive laptop that'll meet your needs

I don't think any hard core gaming laptop has an option for touchscreen. There might be some "creator" laptops but the GPU definitely won't be a 5080 or above.

I need a touchscreen laptop with very powerful AI performance (for realtime inferencing). given that no others are building anything like that, "gaming" laptop might be the closest I can get

Which Lenovo or MSI exactly?

Also, I noticed these days laptops are sitting around the 16inch size but last time I got one (like 7 years ago - MSI GT75VR with 1080 - still performs great to this day), the sizes were 18inches and that was perfect. Is that just a rarity now?

You might be better off buying a portable monitor to connect to the laptop.

Currently the best GPU in a laptop with a touchscreen is a 4070. If you sit tight there will probably be a 5070 and possibly a 5070ti laptop with a touchscreen. They'll still only have 8gb of VRAM. I don't know much about ai but you need a lot of VRAM right? As far as 5080/5090 touchscreen laptop I highly doubt we'll ever see one.

Yes. 18 inch screens are now rarer and mostly reserved for the high end models for a hefty sum.

Lenovo Legion 7i pro and MSI Vector 16 HX are the ones I would recommend. Just don't buy at current prices and wait for a deal that won't be far away now.
