I bought SEVERAL of these usb car chargers and wall chargers from Am., Eb. and they are overrated. With these usb car chargers, the highest amperage my Motorola was charging at 1.7amp max with good heavy and duty charging cables, while its original wall charger can charge to 2.8amp easily. Anyone has any experience on these issues? Which brands are trustworthy? What a waste of mother nature earth's resources. Thanks

I bought a UGREEN 130W USB C Car Charger just over 2 years ago. I can personally vouch that it'll charge a laptop at 100watts.

Looks like they're still selling the same model, and there's a father's day sale going on:

So confused, so many to choose from. Will the higher watt ones damage the car battery if left unplugged?

Check if your car power ports shut off when the car is off. Many modern cars do this.

and what do you mean, "if left unplugged"? If it's not plugged in, nothing will happen.

My fiance's Mazda CX-50 charging port shuts off when the car is off in the front of the car, but in the back of the vehicle there is another charging port than runs continuously. So if they have a 2nd port in the back, try that one if it needs to charge all day/night in the car.

Most cars limit the current from charger at 10Amps with a fuse. So the chargers cannot harm battery or port.

Thus I was thinking Max capacity would be 120W. 130W is confusing to me but I cannot talk about current technology or marketing with decades old education.

Unplugged meaning the phone is unplugged but the charger is still left in the cigarette port. My car mechanic said that it would drain the battery. Previously I had a similar charger from Verizon and the light will stay on plugged. It did drain the car battery somewhat.
