This is a lukewarm deal, if you want to get a 9800x3d bundle right this instant it isn't bad, but it certainly isn't incredible either. Around $680-$750 is about par for the course when it comes to 9800x3d bundles, though this one at least has a pretty good motherboard. There have been two newegg pc builder flash sales in the past few months (15% off when you buy 4 or more components) that offered far better value, if you're not eager to build right now it might be worthwhile to wait in the hope newegg runs that promotion again.

Alternatively, if you aren't super hung up on getting the absolute highest end gaming cpu possible, you could get the 7800x3d ( https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-...6819113793 ) + GIGABYTE B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE Mobo ( https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E1681...6813145500 ) + CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 Ram ( https://www.newegg.com/corsair-32...6820982058 ) + WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X Ssd ( https://www.newegg.com/western-di...6820250247 ) for $659.36. Just add all of those to cart, making sure they're all "sold and shipped" by newegg.
While that bundle also isn't quite as good as some we've seen in the past, by swapping out for the 7800x3d and a moderately worse b650e motherboard (as a reminder, x870 is just b650e with madatory usb4 support), it's not only $40 cheaper but you also get a 2tb sn850x included, which is a very good high end gen4 ssd that normally goes for ~$130 on sale. The 9800x3d is best case scenario 10%-15% faster than the 7800x3d in gaming (at 1080p using an rtx 4090 or stronger), so the price premium for the 9800x3d generally isn't worth it imo. By the time the difference in their gaming performance is meaningful at any resolution above 1080p, you'd probably want to upgrade your cpu regardless.

Once again though, if you don't feel an urgent need to upgrade/build, it might be better just to wait for a better deal to come along.

Is newegg gonna send you a broken motherboard then blame you for breaking it, then say no returns? This is a scummy company watch out.

It generally sells for $60 to $80 on eBay. My guess is at minimum $50, but I'd post for $70 - maybe $80 - on FB Marketplace/OfferUp.

Got to keep it in case you have to return for rma

I get that people have an agenda to try and make it seem like tariffs, economic chaos and uncertainty are not playing a role. Along with scalpers and companies taking advantage. But prices were not inflated last November. It is affecting prices. Trying to say it is not in one form or another is wrong when it is super obvious to anyone looking at prices.

As for this deal. It is good. Same price as Microcenter but this mobo imo is a better board. I am holding out for the next series of Ryzen chips.

This mobo only has 2 sata ports. Which is weird, typical is 6. Has 4 m.2 spots so I suppose they think you will fill all your storage needs with that. But only 2 sata ports for legacy storage is not a lot.

No sata 3? That becoming more common these days? Been a while since I've done a build.

2 of those m.2 share the same PCIe lane with the GPU so it will impact GPU performance if drives are installed there

The MSI board and 9800x3d combo listed earlier this week was better. I got the x870 at $80 off and it also discounted the 9800x3d down to 400 bucks. Not bad at all.
