It's a DCD809 1/4" hex impact driver so it needs a socket adapter to use on lug nuts like an impact wrench. A couple years ago I used my 809 on 3/4" (19mm) lug nuts with a Ryobi 1/2" square drive socket adapter and it broke the adapter instantly… like, I don't even think I heard one other impact before it broke. That said, the lugs were so grossly over-tightened they took the threads out with them when I finally got them off (torch + jumping up and down on a breaker bar+cheater pipe). It might've worked if they were torqued to spec but I just don't think it was the right tool for the job. It's better suited to nut driving and deck screws and such.
Since then I got the more powerful DCF860 1/4" hex impact driver but I've only used the impact socket adapters for removing lawn mower blades and such. I break out the DCF899 1/2" high torque impact wrench for lug nuts… no adapter required. DCF900 and now DCF961 are the new hotness for 1/2" high-torques but that's why my 899 was cheap.

Thanks for the detailed comment, i need to get me a 899
There are a lot of options.
DeWALT's parent company (Stanley-Black&Decker) is now rebadging the old 899 as Craftsman Brushless R+P CMCF940 and Porter Cable PCCF940 but they have different battery lines. DeWALT's newer mid-torques actually compete with the older, giant, 899 in a smaller package (DCF921, DCF891) but they might cost a premium.
No. Milwaukee makes one that is
