Does the staff here get a commission for posting Orico products on Amazon? This is like the 4th or 5th Orico deal today!

looks ike this one has a better heat sink design and a 2nd cable for older pc's which I would think is needed since they so not have usb C.. Anyone chime in on these two?

I have both, the other works better for me. I just had to throw my one like this away. It would REALLY overheat any drive I placed in it.

The other one works great as a boot disk for my openmediavault nas.

I also have them both. While I never used either in a situation that I noticed any heating problems, the other has this little slide latch mechanism that once you lose it you're done. I have to resort to scotch tape to keep it together.

This one uses a screw that you could eventually find a replacement if it got lost.

Also the other one has this silicone plug to hold the drive in place that irritates the crap out of me. It works well, but it always looks like it's not going to work because it's so flimsy. Not a real problem, just an irritant. Again, a screw here would go a long way. Orico, screws are not the enemy...

Press the silicon plug into the board first, and then just flex it out of the way to secure the drive.

I think the plug is like that because if it were a screw and the thermal pad hardened, the user may damage the drive prying off the lid.

Chinese brand du jour. They'll be back to INIU and LISEN tomorrow.

I am just giving y'all a heads up to research to make sure your drive works with it. I hope this comes off as a helpful post because that is all I am trying to do.

I do not know if it is my drive or not but when I install a 4Tb WD BLACK SN850X in this the drive stops responding after a few minutes. It works fine all my other drives but they are all 1Tb and smaller. Other than the 4Tb drive it works really fast and I love that is smaller than the other enclosure I am using on my 4Tb drive.

I bought this four years ago and the quality was not great and the transfer speeds were very inconsistent. I replaced it with the Sabrent tool-free 3.2 enclosure less than a month later and I've been using it daily without issue since 2001.
