The current Bose lineup is these (QuietComfort) and the flagship headphone QuietComfort Ultra. These are a replacement of the QC 45 model whereas the QC Ultra replaces the Bose 700. Ultra is usually around $329-$349 on sale and this QC model is usually around $220 on sale at Costco. The SC just means soft case as the regular QC comes with a hard case. The lowest Costco has sold these for was $170 around Black Friday and this is the lowest they have been so far this year. I hope that helps!
Here's a good comparison review between those two. https://recordingnow.com/blog/bos...h-1000xm5/
"I find the active noise cancelling on the Bose QuietComfort 2023 and Sony WH-1000XM5 to be nearly on par at a world-class level.
I would give a very, very slight nod to the Bose QuietComfort 2023 for two reasons: Better transparency mode, and a new feature called "Wind Block"."
His reviews are really solid!
The most comfortable over-ear headphones I have ever owned, and I've owned them ALL (Sony, Bose, Apple, Bowers & Wilkins). Highly recommended.

Can someone please explain the Bose tiers after qc35-II? Where does this SC fall? I had the qc 35 and the qc 35-IIs and now wanted to upgrade to a usb-c one.

I find the QC Ultras slightly more comfortable but the QC is mighty comfy too! And I prefer the bass on the QC. I have the QC for rap and the QC Ultra for live music since they have immersive audio. I recommend both!

For the same price, the Bowers and Wilkins PX7S2 is a much better sounding headphone IMO

Yes, 170 around Black Friday, however this is the lowest they've been since his year. I watched these headphones prices closely. The last couple times they were on sale at Costco was $220.

I have these and the XM4s. I like the sound from the Bose slightly more. Unfortunately, there's some kind of Bluetooth issue where it'll frequently cut out when multi-point connection is enabled and one of the devices is an Apple product. Maybe it's just my iPhone 13 or Mac M4, but audio will cut out for a half second at random times when either of those are connected (even if I'm listening on a Windows or Android as the active stream). I tried a lot of searching and setting tweaking, to no avail. When connected to a Windows laptop, Pixel 9, etc. without an Apple device, they're fine. So, I just don't use it with Apple devices anymore. Which is kind of a bummer, honestly. But it is what it is.
