I got the Switch version on the last deal, played through MGS1 and am almost done with MGS2. Some of the cutscenes in MGS2 are laggy-ish, but really, everything works good and I'm very happy with the purchase/play.

They did the worst port of these games with some parts being unplayable. They have released updates to make things better since launch but there's still major issues with these ports. Definitely a money grab and I wouldn't bite just yet even at this price. This is only going to drop lower and lower

Port quality aside: full stop, these are absolute gaming classics. From a control standpoint they can be jarring at first compared to what we're used to in modern games. But the gameplay is built around them so once you get in the flow and get invested in the story these games are truly untouchable. Got this for Switch on Woot for $16.99 and just finished through MGS1, it still holds up.

Don't buy it on Switch unless you're cool with having to download all the games(besides the pre-MGS games) for an "physical" release.
Surprise! Konami is too cheap to pay for anything but the smallest cart size.
Instead, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of "Metal Gear Solid HD Collection." All the games on"Master Collection"(besides MGS1) are just ports from that!
tl;dr Buy this on PS5 or the original collection on Xbox360!

I'd recommend waiting for a lower price for the Switch version due to the download. I played through MGS1 and MGS2 on Switch, and both were perfectly playable portable. Much better experience than playing on the PSV, which had janky controls that I couldn't get used to because of the rear touchscreen. I think the collection had some issues on release, but there have been a few patches released. MGS2 had audio just dropping in the middle of the game, but I think one of the patches fixed it. I wish they had Twin Snakes instead of MGS3 for the extra cheesiness.
