So it seems this line of amplifiers does it's rated power which we know is kinda rare but heres an amp dyno [youtube.com] of it

Usually I look at the fuses to estimate if an amp will put out it's rated power. I'm not seeing any fuses external on this amp at all.

Edit: Interesting the downvotes I'm getting on this comment. I was expecting someone to have chimed in with the fuse rating. I assume downvote for the reality check for those that believe this puts out the power claimed.

That has no bearing on actual output. They can still fall below ratings depending on the brand.

But it does, if an amp claims 1000watts rms but has a 20 amp fuse, you know its bullshit. For every thousand watts, you'll see approx 100 amps of fusing if its going to make it's claimed power. It's a rough guideline but to say it has 'no bearing' is ignorance. It takes power to make power. There's no getting around this law. You cannot expect 1000 watts of output if theres only 500 watts of power is going in . Thats not how electricity and power works. Minus the actual audio signal, the bulk of a car audio amplifiers work is converting the large amounts of Direct current it takes in, into large amounts of music signal or AC power going out and these 2 figures directly correlate with each other. So for a fuse to properly protect it, it must also correlate with this power. It cant be oversized or undersized. To simplify it all, you can't have more power going out, than whats coming in, and fusing tells you the limits of what's coming in and undersized fusing is the easiest way to tell if an amp won't put out rated power.

I think you misunderstand the fuses, I'm more worried if an amp actually puts out near it's rated output. The majority of the time the amps put out considerably less watts then their max power.

The vast majority of amps over the years put out considerably less power then stated. If they don't have fuses that will support the necessary amperage to support the reported wattage claim, it will never happen.

So while the fuses don't necessarily dictate the output, if the amplifier is rated at a higher current then the fuses support, you won't get the claimed output power.

That said, the fuses don't directly affect the output from your subwoofer, that will be more an effect of speaker and box efficiency.

Your original statement, which was half baked, has nothing to do with whether or not the amp will make the power it claims.
