Consider whether this line shares batteries with other brands or can be easily adapted... if not, consider Ego or Greenworks. I had the Craftsman 60V line and the Troy-Bilt CORE 40V line before that - two big name brands that discontinued a battery product line...

Ths is a good point that never used to be a concern. The Craftsman 60V becoming a "legacy" product within a few years was pretty frustrating. FWIW, It does seem Cub Cadet took over the product line so may be some options out there.

my 6ah battery for my Toro mower doesn't quite make it through the thick grass in the spring. This might be worth it just for the battery to get an extra 15 minutes or so of mow time.

Same here. I'm trying to resist this though. The mower does an incredible job, but the price of the batteries is killer. I have some regrets I didn't go with ego, but I was fixed on getting a battery system that supported trimmers with the ability to use the universal attachments I have.

I think I'm going to stick with the toro mower/battery until it dies and start with ego for trimmer/blower/etc.

I have literally a shelf full of Toro 60V batteries, including several 7.5Ah ones. I got a 5Ah off-brand one from vine to test, and I found it works comparably to the branded ones. 2Ah won't go far in the mower, so a larger off-brand one would be my choice if I only needed the battery.

The attachment capable Toro 60V trimmer is actually really good - better than my previous 2-stroke Husqvarna one. Unlike the trimmer in this deal, the attachment capable one has a removable head, so you can use blades on it. I have a circular saw style blade on mine, and it cuts through brush with no problem.
(I do have the trimmer in this deal, one of three different Toro 60V ones I have. The one in the deal is the least heavy duty of the three, and it doesn't have a removable head - something only the attachment capable one has.)

Not sure if they're discontinuing the line entirely but not being able to find the yard equipment im looking fir anywhere but the back wall if im lucky really sucks. If I'm buying into a brand new tool line I expect at least a solid decade of battery support. It's frustrating because it's not like there's anything different about a Toro mower/blower etc than a skil one, just a way to force you into a new battery platform only with expensive high voltage batteries.

I got this because my new mower came with a free 60v leaf blower. It's weed whackability is pretty impressive. The leaf blower surprised me too

Seems like an okay deal, but guessing you don't get much runtime on a single charge. Would probably be more ideal with a 4Ah battery with a 60V trimmer. Maybe if you have a very small area to trim it would be a nice pickup.
