For the price you can get a 32 OLED from MSI. LG OLED are expensive.

Is it worth paying $300 extra for this model, if you don't game? (Looking for the sharpest text monitor)

If you don't game what's the point in even buying one with such a high refresh rate?

No text will be equally shitty on that monitor. If you want OLED and sharp text, the best you can get is one of the 4K QD OLEDs. Even those with their triangular subpixel layout won't be as sharp as a 4K IPS monitor that has the standard RGB layout. But sharp enough. LG is making standard RGB OLED subpixel layout panels eventually. Then the sharpness of OLED will actually match their IPS counterparts at the same resolutions.

Buy a 32" or 27" 4K monitor. 27" 4K will give you the highest PPI. Do you need OLED or are you fine with an IPS display? IPS would be cheaper.

There's a handful of us who look forward to the deep blacks of OLED more than the high refresh rate. Text clarity isn't where we need it to be yet at 1440p, but fingers crossed it'll happen in the next year or two.

Costco is selling a Samsung QD OLED 27" on sale for $550 right now.

May be worth a cross comparison.

What are you talking about both monitor are oled and 1440p. The difference being that the other one is more expensive BECAUSE of the higher refresh rate

ummm, lg woled monitors generally aren't sharp for text due to pixel layout

honestly id just get a good ips monitor if you need it mainly for text purposes --- plenty of deals for 200-300 and some even as low as 150 depending on size

also, if you want a place that has a pretty good assortment of ips variants, i recommend seeing what dell has to offer if its mainly for the text purposes / in terms of price/performance its hard to beat ips panels from dell -- only issue is their variants are normally specific for oem's so what they offer online varies a lot of the time especially during the holidays when they have their best deals because they are liquidating what models they have left that were made for an oem partner
