Their medium roast seems darker than medium Lavazza. Tried the smart ass last time and it definitely isn't as good as the Lavazza Gran Crema and definitely not as good as the organic Lavazza (green package) or the other 2 in the gold packages. The Lavazza medium arabica is one of the worst Lavazza flavors imo. Check your local Costco and you can sometimes find the Gran Crema that was roasted very recently. I'd stock up during a Costco sale but beans tend to go stale pretty quickly.

Thanks OP, got the coupon which seems to be targeted. You can always unsubscribed after purchasing to make this a one time purchase.

$10-12 for Lavazza is the slickdeals 1kg price but I tried 5-6 varieties and all of them were, honestly, pretty bad and burnt tasting.

I would love to pay $17.50 for something that is good. In fact I occasionally pay $15 locally for 12oz of something that I really like (George Howell Alchemy Espresso).

Too bad the only time I bought Kicking Horse from amazon it was close to expiration date and Lavazza-tasting, leaving me to guess when the roast date was. I would not have too high hopes here either. I will try anyway.

edit: after logging on the coupon disappeared

You have to subscribe to get the coupon. Stupid.

Was that really necessary?

My fav premium coffee is blue bottle. Bright and bold are both really good.

I agree. I tried the Lavazza two different occasions and was very disappointed. Will try this but concerned about the expiration date.

Are you new to SD? Almost every deal on Amazon will be a S&S.

Steps are real easy. Order. When you receive, take 30 seconds to open your Amazon app, go to subscriptions, and choose cancel.

It's significantly "oilier" than Lavazza. I use supercrema as my baseline for oil on the beans and taste. Nothing to write home about, but acceptable espresso out of my Jura. I had the "medium roast" from kicking horse and it's shining with oil (similar to starbucks stuff) and definitely tasted burnt compared to supercrema.
