These were $3.99 a few weeks ago I think. Maybe it's the new tariff price? Who knows

I was wrong. I was thinking of the type c to c version. Those are still $3.99.

Be aware this is 5V 3A cable, which means there is 10k-ohm resistor inside, not 56k-ohm. Do not try to connect this cable on your car's USB-A port or expensive laptop's USB-A port. There might be some risk of burning USB-A port. Nothing wrong with this product, always need to know the difference of cable type, especially for A to C conversion. 56k-ohm cable is the safest choice but this support only slow charging.
