The Western Digital Blue 8TB is comparable specs (arguably more reliable than Barracudas too) except it's CMR vs this one which is SMR, is only $10 more on Amazon currently.

Not an NAS drive. Be careful using these because they will have a higher chance of failure in an NAS. Hell I've even had 2 WD Reds go bad in my TrueNAS setup.

The Barracuda series is not suited for NAS. The IronWolf and IronWolf Pro series are Seagate's NAS drives.

As a desktop drive, or occasional NAS backup drive, where it isn't being heavily used the drive should work fine. Note that around these parts Seagate drives tend to get a thumbs down on reliability from more than a few people.

BestBuy had the Seagate BarraCuda 8TB drive for the same price last week. Currently though Best Buy is pricing the 8TB BarraCuda at $134.99.
