Not a good price. The 256gb unlocked was $199 at BestBuy recently, and that was a good deal. I managed to get one before they sold out.

When the price becomes 150ish, you won't be wanting the phone anymore. It'll be too long in tooth. Guess how did I know? I was in the same boat.

I bought a Pixel 4 XL brand new in early 2022. I liked the phone so much, I started looking for another. I stipulated it must be 150ish. Finally in Feb 2025, I saw a deal for $147. New condition. I thought long and hard. I decided to pass. I'm not a phone collector.

Everything is good except the low screen brightness. Basically can't use it in direct sunlight.

I use mine in the sun, just move your body to give some shade to the screen.

Well, I have done it. I placed an order for a Pixel 7 Pro 512GB in Hazel. The best deal was the $200 deal, but I've missed the boat. That illusive, beautiful ship has sailed. Now what? I need a phone now. (Not exactly but sooner the better.)

I think this is the next best - all things are considered.

One thing I've seen no mention anywhere by any one is the list of 4G and 5G bands. The Google phones (US version) always have a fuller list of bands. The Samsung phones (US version) always cut the bands. Think it as the TV channels. You want to have more TV channels available to you for the obvious reason. More bands, you can use your phone at more places, particularly more countries.

My final list was the Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24+. The missing bands of the S24+ kept me from buying it. Of course, the huge price difference and New (Google) vs. Used/Refurbished (Samsung S24+) pushed me to the Google phone.

Woot must have Google phones warehoused in China! My phone will be delivered between May 22 - May 27. Fingers crossed.

Here's my Google Pixel 7 Pro Hazel. It came brand new, factory sealed. This phone was October 2022 production. First in, last out inventory method I think.

I'm happy with my purchase. No complains. This phone is a great value. I'm going to use it for the next three years.

The attached picture shows it next to my Pixel 4 XL.

Pixel 7-8 and 9a all use a radio with fairly poor rural reception. Similar situation to Intel iPhones.

Pixel 9 is better, but for 9a they recycled the old radio.

Avoid it if you're in rural.

Also only Pixel 8 and newer have HDMI/video output.

My final list was the Pixel 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24+. The missing 5G bands of the S24+ played a huge part in my decision making. Samsung phones are always like that - always missing many bands.

Yeah but are all these bands really necessary in the US? What is more relevant is the fact that Pixel antennas are widely known to be hot garbage. Literally.
