Somewhere I read that these can be used for surveillance. I understand I should be using the surveillance hdd like purple or skyhawk. Would like some input?

Anything more than $20/TB is a bad deal for spinning rust. Also, who is running RAID1 on a NAS? That's a huge "parity tax" - this makes the limit of 2 silly as well.

It's actually less than $18/TB. I believe mods have removed my additional text on how to get further discount. Sorry, not my fault.
