Wyndham Hotels & Resort just rolled out a new way to redeem your points, especially since you might not have enough to cover a free night. Valid at any hotel offering multiple "Discounted Nights with Points + Cash" rates for the same stay date(s). Subject to availability. Plus, you'll earn points for every dollar you spend on your room.

I checked on a Tier 2 property in expensive San Diego, near SeaWorld and redeeming points on a portion of the stay plus cash would be under $100 per night for weekend Fri-Sun. A lot lower for weeknights, always. So for San Diego, that's a decent night stay if you have to spend money.
