The Bounty basic version is also on sale for $90, which I think is a better value if you have the space for the larger unit. But I don't know if it comes with pods. Mine did with herbs when I purchased in December 2024.

Bought one of these a while back thinking I'd have a bunch of fresh herbs all the time. Had a couple pods that didn't germinate at all and since they grow in at different rates the faster ones take over pretty quickly if you don't actively keep them in check. The plants also don't last that long and you need to eventually reseed and regrow.

yeah the biggest mistake people make getting into aerogarden is filling all the slots. Intuitively you get 6 slots and 6 pods so you think you just plant them all but nope. If I'm growing herbs, big plants like basil, dill, or thyme can get 3 slots each, so I might end up planting something like 1 basil, and a few smaller plants like chives, on the other side to not overcrowd. Right now i have 2 tomatoes going in one unit, and 4 baby bok choy in the other (both 6 pod units)

are these designs meant for microgreens or are there other /better slickdeals or options for them
Aerogarden sells a special add-on kit specifically for Microgreens. There is one that fits the Bounty and one that fits the Harvest. They replace the top grow deck.

Same here, I purchased two Bounty Basic units in February 2025, 1 came with Tuscan Italian Herb seed pot kit while the other one came with Heirloom Salad Greens pod kit

I just want basil, cilantro, and mint. Could I grow all three in this unit at once?

Yes, you can. Have been using Aerogarden's for years but just ordered and opened this particular model. Mine came with a couple of different types of basil and mint, but no cilantro. I planted all slots but plan to transplant. You may not want to use all slots.

When you eat your bok choy do you start over with new seeds to get more bok choy or do they grow back? I'm trying to wrap my head around this.

I'd like to point out that this $60 aerogarden is stainless steel and will let you grow plants up to a foot tall and as a 20 W light and six slots. The bountybasic is also on sale for $90. It is not stainless steel. It can be used for plants up to 2 feet tall. It has a 30 W light and nine slots. I think it's a better choice for tomatoes and lettuce.

Also if you get the quart size aero garden nutrients it's way way way cheaper than getting a 3 ounce bottles .

And a quick research so on YouTube convince me that cal-mag should be added with the nutrients. Cal-mag is a calcium, magnesium additive nutrient.

Also plug the unused holes . Apparently with the UV light goes through the holes into the water allergy forms in the water.

Also it looks like you if you have a 3-D printer you're set there's all kinds of parts for these aero gardens . There are slot plugs, little support structures for the plants, even drawers that could be put under the aero garden.

Im in for 2 Bounty Basics and one of this deal.

It says rate the article there is not gonna be issue getting nutrients or the plastic seed pods.

The issue is the more expensive $300 models use mobile apps . If these arent supported you can show your expensive aero garden into a useless brick.

That's not an issue on this model or the bounty basic. They don't need apps, they don't use Alexa. They use a normal old school menu that needs no interaction with the Internet or mobile devices.

The company no longer existing so there is no warranty.

There are quite a few reviews indicating the LEDs stopped working completely within the warranty period. If this happens, you're out of luck.

Is the bounty basic 6 pod for $35 a good deal? Seems like they are both on sale

This is so right! I had cherry tomatoes going for over a year in mine, I wish I would have only done 1 plant instead of two. The plants were fighting each other for light and even with trimming the roots they displaced a lot of water and needed refilling frequently.

If you don't have covers for the extra holes I found golf balls worked well for covering the unused slots.
What type cherry toms? Can I use seeds from store bought or do I have to buy micro tom seeds? TY

I am new with this and have watched YouTube videos.
I gather it's better to pay more to get seeds from online sites because you can get seeds that make a bush jalapeños that grow many jalapeños instead of going to the store and get some seeds that maybe only give you six big jalapeños.
Same with cherry tomatoes and others . Find the seeds that make many cherry tomatoes instead of standard seeds maybe make less tomatoes but bigger tomatoes.
