My comment from yesterday

(Also Amazon deal of $499+$50 gift card is back up)

Decent deal if needed.

Remember to get your $30 Meta promo credit by activating your account before hand and using another user's code. (If you don't put the code in; you'll have 7 days from activation to get the code and reset the headset and set it up again) (Meta promo credit is capped at $599/year)

When buying games there are 15-20% off codes usually if you find a developer. This bypasses the need to friend/follow.

All Meta sales/promotions are account specific meaning they could have a 90% off sale and you may not have access to it or they may up the credit for a few months to $60 and you may not have access to it.

*This is an informative post and asking for said codes is against SlickDeals policy and can get you banned. There are multiple subReddits that can help.
To anyone on the fence about getting one, do it. It's incredibly fun and the standalone function is amazing as you don't have to deal with any cables tying you down or light stations tracking you. PCVR is incredibly accessible with the Quest 3 thru the use of Meta Air Link, Steam Link, or Remote Desktop app. Just make sure you have a wifi6 or better router to minimize streaming latency to your PC.

The resolution is one of, if not the best on the market and the refresh rate is very nice as well. I used to get motion sick playing VR but not with this headset and being able to move all over without having to deal with a cable. Being able to physically rotate your body freely vs using the controller to turn the camera goes a long way for immersion and reducing motion sickness.

The headset definitely needs some upgrades if you're going to be heavily gaming as the comfort and battery capacity leaves a lot to be desired though. Facial interface, battery band, controller grips, and blue light lens covers are a must in my opinion, but to each their own!
There are tutorials on how to watch your pron in 3-d, LOL.

In any case, you need to get Half Life Alyx if you have a VR headset. it is far an away the best and most immersive VR game made to date. The Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video games are also excellent. Very fun and, if you always wanted to be a Jedi, these will make you feel like one!

You should get a $30 credit for the headset if you use a code. Some people make an alt account and use that to sign up so they basically get double the rewards.

If you owned a Quest 2 this should still qualify as a new headset. Support can be hit/miss but definitely use a code.
You have to make a new account to qualify for the $30 credit. I tried using my friends referral code and it wouldn't work. I contacted customer service and was told it's because I was trying to use the code on an already existing account for my Quest 2.

Just FYI, when you are creating a new account, if you use someone's referral code from meta quest, YOU get $30 store credit for games, and the referrer does. I think this is a great deal and I am a quest 3 owner.

If you create your Meta Quest account BEFORE following the referral link, you cannot go back and add the referral later, you will lose the $30 credit.

So, if anyone wants a referral to get the credit, I am more than happy to share my referral link with you, just send me a PM and I will send it.

A few months back they did a update and ask for the birthday in which my daughter put her birthday in, she's 10 and I lost her account forever due to age restriction. $400 worth of games. I sent over 20 emails and I keep getting the run around.

Awesome. I just checked Target and saw a 15% off code on 1 item. Gave an additional $75 off.
Not seeing the 15% off code. Maybe account specific??

So how can I still access all the games I bought on my Quest 1 if I create a new account to get the credit? How does their DRM work? Will adding my account to the new headset be enough?

Welp. I had the quest 3 in my target cart with the 15% coupon last night. Slept on it. This morning the coupon is gone.

When I was setting mine up, I put my 7 year old daughters birthday in as if she was older so she can play Roblox. For some reason Roblox won't let you install and play it if you have a normal Roblox aged kid.

Also, when my forever old Facebook account was hacked, I couldn't recover it because I no longer had access to that email address. After days of trying to get it fixed via Meta tech support, my sister mentioned that she has a friend who's a software engineer for Facebook. She got in touch with him and he was able to get it to the right people to be fixed, so I understand how frustrating Meta can be. It took me having a personal connection to someone to fix my issue.

Yea lucky you,I gave up. I sent them emails everyday for a few months and their responses were the same like they are bots. Asking over and over for the same stuff like what was your email, last purchase, forward a copy of a purchase email etc ..

Pretty sure the games will be DRM bound to that specific account. Games are not locked to the headset, they are locked to the account.

With that being said, using your same account is 100% ok. You can still get the $30 referral credit. The credit is triggered when you add the new device after following the referral link, and you add your new Quest 3. So yes, you will be fine. No need to create a brand new account. It's just if you already created a new account and linked the Quest 3 to it, you can't get the credit.

Unfortunately that never worked for me. When I tried using my friends referral code I got the following message. There was an issue accepting this referral. You may not be eligible because the country or region is not supported, you referred yourself, you already accepted this referral or you do not meet the age requirements for the program.
