(Also Amazon deal of $499+$50 gift card is back up)
Decent deal if needed.
Remember to get your $30 Meta promo credit by activating your account before hand and using another user's code. (If you don't put the code in; you'll have 7 days from activation to get the code and reset the headset and set it up again) (Meta promo credit is capped at $599/year)
When buying games there are 15-20% off codes usually if you find a developer. This bypasses the need to friend/follow.
All Meta sales/promotions are account specific meaning they could have a 90% off sale and you may not have access to it or they may up the credit for a few months to $60 and you may not have access to it.
*This is an informative post and asking for said codes is against SlickDeals policy and can get you banned. There are multiple subReddits that can help.
The resolution is one of, if not the best on the market and the refresh rate is very nice as well. I used to get motion sick playing VR but not with this headset and being able to move all over without having to deal with a cable. Being able to physically rotate your body freely vs using the controller to turn the camera goes a long way for immersion and reducing motion sickness.
The headset definitely needs some upgrades if you're going to be heavily gaming as the comfort and battery capacity leaves a lot to be desired though. Facial interface, battery band, controller grips, and blue light lens covers are a must in my opinion, but to each their own!
In any case, you need to get Half Life Alyx if you have a VR headset. it is far an away the best and most immersive VR game made to date. The Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video games are also excellent. Very fun and, if you always wanted to be a Jedi, these will make you feel like one!

If you owned a Quest 2 this should still qualify as a new headset. Support can be hit/miss but definitely use a code.
If you create your Meta Quest account BEFORE following the referral link, you cannot go back and add the referral later, you will lose the $30 credit.
So, if anyone wants a referral to get the credit, I am more than happy to share my referral link with you, just send me a PM and I will send it.

Also, when my forever old Facebook account was hacked, I couldn't recover it because I no longer had access to that email address. After days of trying to get it fixed via Meta tech support, my sister mentioned that she has a friend who's a software engineer for Facebook. She got in touch with him and he was able to get it to the right people to be fixed, so I understand how frustrating Meta can be. It took me having a personal connection to someone to fix my issue.

With that being said, using your same account is 100% ok. You can still get the $30 referral credit. The credit is triggered when you add the new device after following the referral link, and you add your new Quest 3. So yes, you will be fine. No need to create a brand new account. It's just if you already created a new account and linked the Quest 3 to it, you can't get the credit.
