Both of them will charge prorated for days of use.
As per which one is better between vzw and att I can't say for sure. I have done these deals on ATT only and it's pretty easy to cancel over chat. I think the same is true for vzw. If you happen to have an existing account with them adding a line and then cancelling is the best way to do it. Both of them will send you a bill later on which you would need to chat with them again to void it.

Brining the cost down to $9.63 at Bestbuy with the trade in, when you select trade in Google pixel 8a > Color: bay (Obsidian was giving me an error so I purchased Bay instead).
Then select Verizon new customer (no port in required), ATT is $100 more expensive and requires port in.
You will still have to cancel the vzw service within 3 days of activated to cancel the service, and to get a refund of $35 activation fee from the carrier which you'll have to contact customer service to do.
This is my first time going through with the cancelling of vwz or att but I read up on the 2 threads listed below for more information and seems like a little hassle but doable for the savings.
