Because cardboard spools don't play nicely with the AMS.

You shouldn't need to dry it every time as long as you keep it in a sealed container, ideally with desiccant. You'll have to be more specific about how it's "a complete disaster" to get good advice on avoiding that.

You mean it doesn't fit the AMS *Lite*, which isn't the same as the AMS, in which these work just fine.

Okay deal if you only need a couple basic colors. Same as Jayo on AliExpress (they're the seller on Amazon), which is generally cheaper than this if you buy in bulk.

Nice, and they use plastic spools!!! Woot.
Plastic spool is a great start, but what about the PETG quality with this brand on the Bambu Lab and using Bambu Lab higher speeds?

Why is a plastic spool a good thing? I'd have thought after accumulating a couple dozen, any useful repurposing would be exhausted.

Help out a novice here. I have had bad experiences with PETG so far. I rarely print with it but it's always hit or miss. Sometimes it comes out great but others it's a complete disaster. I dried it to below 20% humidity. Should I be drying it every single time I print? I'm using it in an AMS so it sits enclosed. It just seems so finicky.

Especially if using AMS, many people have issues with cardboard spools breaking down and spreading dust, clogging the nozzle and other important parts.

No one has this issue. It is what Bambu claimed but lacks any real world confirmation.
Only thing I find the cardboard spools more difficult to put on and remove from the AMS lite because its snug, but no other issues with them.

Can anyone recommend a good 3d printer without breaking bank?

How much are you looking to spend. Bambu A1 mini is relatively inexpensive.
