The $10 ones almost as good. Sightly slower in between waffles as cold batter sucks out heat a little. Also just a inch or so smaller waffle.
I think if for family and planning to keep forever just pay more get Cuisinart or older ebay better brands used. I don't think the flip matters much. The Walmart $10 sale might happen again.
Walmart has larger $50 Cuisinart refurb so 4 square waffles to crank out and give each person one as you wait 2-3min for next waffle
