Is there any way to confirm step 5 of your explanation still works? Has there been a policy change with spectrum which now doesn't work and will make you go through 3 years of paying them to get the credit back?
I'm pretty certain step 5 will not change this year as long as you pay in full and don't do monthly device financing. Spectrum mobile doesn't have conventional post paid "contracts" like verizon, tmobile, at&t etc. Its similar to visible, mint or other prepaid service provider. You can leave whenever you want, of course you'll be on the hook for remaining balance owed if you are financing and owe money on the device.

But if you want to keep the device and have it successfully unlocked after 60 days, conservatively you probably need to stay with them for 3 months.

FYI, I just preordered a blue S25+ as Spectrum mobile gave me $995 for trading in my pixel 8 pro 256gb.(inclusive of $700 promo credit) And S25+ retails for $999. When all things are said and done hopefully I'm just paying taxes on the device. I'll keep you posted on the process this year if you are curious on any change to the credit refund policy.

I went locally to my store and the guy recommended to do it in person since the promo runs until march. no need to mail it as he said they would process the credit immediately

he also they will receive the phones a few days before 2/7 but can only sell them then.

I am not sure if this has been posted yet or not, but I received these phones yesterday from the QVC deal and did a dummy trade in with the IMEI number. And it appears to have accepted it at the $700 trade-in level.

Might be a good way to get a cheapo trade in.
That phone isn't on the Spectrum trade-in list. I only see Moto G Play 2021? What are you selecting? Any history of them scrutinizing the exact model of phone or not?

I just selected "Motorola" then searched on 'Moto G play 2023' and it came up.

Additionally, I entered the IMEI number and it took me to the final step to verify and showed the $700 trade in value.

I stand corrected, I selected the wrong carrier. Thanks!

Do we have to open a new line for this? We can't just upgrade a phone to the S25 on an existing line?

Cool. Has anyone successfully done it, and gotten their credit back THIS TIME? Does it say that customer service will credit you soon after purchase, somewhere on this promotion? There is no guarantee. Use that brain, and see that there is a risk, and nothing is guaranteed from last time, smarty.
