Dang i thought joule rating is all that matters. Y'all motivated me to research and actually it's not as important as equipment warranty and other specs that typically aren't marketed (clamping voltage/response time). Dang now I want to return my surge protector and get a better one (maybe Belkin / Tripp Lite). This Anker is ok, but it doesn't seem like Anker has as good rep as the actual major surge protector rbands.
300J surge protection is very low and basically no protection at all.
I got this one for half the price[amazon.com]. 1500J protection, which is still low, but you also get 2xUSB-C (20W) and 2xUSB-A (15W). They are low wattage, and I don't know how much total wattage you'd get if all 4 ports are loaded.

Anker has been offloading a lot of defective products on sales recently. That and their customer service now looks for any reason to deny warranty. Anker has reputation is tanking ime

This one's $22.49 after clipping the 25% off coupon, is Anker, and has a higher joule rating and $200k connected equipment warranty.

Came here to say this, as sleek as this looks, wouldn't recommend it and surprised that was overlooked/made it to front page.

If you have a USB-A to Lightning or USB-A to MagSafe cable connected to the USB-A port, please disconnect and then reconnect the cable before charging.
The USB-A port does not support Quick Charge 3.0. Devices equipped with Quick Charge, such as the Galaxy series, will charge at regular speed.
Quick Charge and Power Delivery technologies are not supported on the USB-C port when using both ports simultaneously.
The USB ports of this product are not compatible with laptops.
