The TP-Link S500D (Amazon - then one you have mentioned) and TS25 (OP's Best Buy deal)) are both smart switches from TP-Link's Tapo line, but the S500D is a smart dimmer switch, allowing you to adjust light brightness, while the TS25 is essentially a standard on/off smart switch, meaning it only turns lights on or off without dimming capabilities; functionally, the key difference is the S500D's ability to control light intensity.
I use the Kasa dimmer switches and non dimmer, all on alexa. Never get out of bed again just to turn off the light. You can dim by voice instead of getting up as well. I know we're all gaining weight but she never turns off the lights.. this is an amazing deal i remember when I first started buying them likely $25 ea/

So the Best Buy site is wrong? They're listed as dimmer switches (brightness control specifically listed under Features) plus they have Matter.
What's a neutral wire? I know I have a negative, positive, and a negative wire only. Home built in 1979 and I have GFCI and newer outlets.
If you have three wires in your electrical box (black, white and bare copper wire for a ground) then you are good to go. I have these switches and I love them. I use them all the time and over the past 6 years they have never failed to work for me. I tell Alexia to turn them on and off, set to 5% to 100% brightness and turn on and off at a set time. I paid more for these switches than this.

Looks like there's no Matter compatibility on the Amazon version. I did take BB's model # and searched it, looks like maybe it's a BB specific model number, but maybe they're identical to some other Tapo model, and TP-Link just has a BB specific model number, not sure.
TS25 is not Best Buy specific model as you can see at TP-link site below.
I also confused while back ago with those similar TS25, S505D, etc look same but different model #.
But I found TS25 is little bit better than S505D with Matter with an extra flexibility.
I read that the Tapo does not hae Alexa integration right now and one has to use the Tapo app to operate these. Can anyone comment? TIA.
I have a bunch of Tapo devices integrated with Alexa. I use Alexa to control them. They are all bulbs and plugs, I can't use the switches because I don't have a neutral wire.

Sorry, I can't help you. I tried integrating some smart switches in with alexa via matter but something about the qr code and not having a new enough echo device so I haven't tried again. I'm pretty sure it should work but can't say 100% it does.
That said the version at best buy TS25 is indeed a dimmer. The best I can tell is TS25 is the standard version and S505D is amazons custom sku so they don't have to price match best buy.
Matter means this supports new universal protocol for smart devices, that means no matter what assistant you use, you would be able to integrate these. That includes, Google home, Alexa, homekit, etc

Buy them at this price because they are a great deal, replace the switches when you replace the lights.

S500D seems to be an older model without Matter.

It looks like TS25 is newer and latest model.
now the webpage says S505D is also matter certified. Done with software update?

almost identical?
Also wondering if these will work where I have a panel of 2 or more switches under the same wall plate (assuming yes here but figured I would ask)
you will want something that is labeled 3 way. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Sw...B07724HNTX
I have multiple panels of 3 in our bedrooms and have replaced one with these in them all.
