This has been a classic for charging laptops and Steam Decks for years now. It goes on sale at this price every now and again. Look up previous threads for more details.

Edit: Nvm please ignore. The devices look similar but the one I got is from this listing, not the one from OP

https://a.co/d/9qBrONb

Can't confirm if this new one has 12v

Thanks, OP!....but there are too many "vine" reviews! I developed a headache after a while and stopped scrolling! I don't mind some "vine" reviews, but there seems to be an excessive amount for this product (and few "verified purchase" reviews). I'll pass!

That's weird, they look the same and both ship from "Baseus Brand Store" so you'd assume it wasn't just an accident. Both seem to have the same capacity and wattage, also claim "PD3.0, QC4.0, AFC, SCP, FCP." I own the one from your link (model PPADM65UL) but per Amazon came out 2021 whereas this one (PPADM65-S) was released 2024. Perhaps an updated model? I'd probably lean towards the (allegedly) newer version.

Maybe send Baseus an email asking them?

I have two of these, one of which I use with a pinecil soldering iron for mobile soldering.

I've had zero issues and they work well.

Bought one last year at $38 at a "deal". I really like it as I can charge my laptop on the go. Bought a second at this price.

As a valued add:

When I bought this one a year or 2 ago, it supported 12v which allowed me to get an adapter cable to charge my Microsoft surface. A lot of them don't support 12v as it's not part of the PD protocol anymore.
Can you tell educate me further? I have a surface pro that I want to use with a portable charger. What's the adapter cable to use?

Would you buy this product again for this purpose or is there a better option available these days?

TIA

Micro IN input (along with C). Haven't seen a Micro IN port for a while. Why?

Does the old one allow you to charge the battery pack via USB C? I remember that being a negative on one of the models I had looked at. It only charged via micro USB which was sreally slow.

Really depends on what surface you have. I have a surface pro 2. It's old but it's zippy with Ubuntu on it. It has the 5 contact magnetic charger that connects to it. That one only takes 12v in. I was able to find a USB-C to surface pro 2 cable on ebay. Can't remember how much but it was under $10.

Newer surfaces have different voltages and charging ports, and I think the latest run USB C natively. So you don't need 12v specifically.

12v has been dropped from the USB-PD standard. So not all battery packs will have it. This one here when I got it 2 years ago had the 12v in it. I, confirmed it with a USB meter. It might not even have it anymore, so would be important for you to confirm.

The most important thing is that you check the output on your charger. It will, tell you the voltages you need.

Vine is just a springboard program for vendors to get some reviews in, as most people won't buy a product unless it's got some. 80% of Viners try to be as unbiased as possible, and there's the lazy 20% who write AI reviews or don't ever use the product at all. So don't totally discount their reviews, but keep that 80/20 bias in mind.

Yes, in practice I only charge the bank via USB C (using my Steam Deck and laptop chargers mostly) but if memory serves it will charge via the micro USB plug (but doesn't sound like you care about that too much though). IMO it would have been better served with 2 USB C plugs and 2 USB A's as opposed to having a micro USB but I guess worst case someone has options.
