There's a bundle of 2 for $8.44 [amazon.com] as well, not as cheap since there's no S&S option for that.

Walmart [walmart.com] has it for $4.22 also.

a buck per battery for 9V for a top brand is killer

you can get the amazon basics ones for close to that when buying in bulk, but to be honest as someone who has experience buying a lot of them, they're garbage from a quality standpoint

the lowest i've seen for a name brand has been buying those 12 pack rayovacs you can sometimes get them down to $1.80 a pop when buying from home depot S&S or if lowes has a sale. rayovacs are not good for long term storage, but if you are going through 1 of these per year per smoke detector for a household or something, then long term storage becomes irrelevant
