For anyone curious, the P1S+AMS combo is $50 cheaper than "normal." I paid $849 at the end of August and this would total $798 for the same.
I just bought an a1 combo last night and saw this this morning. Luckily they honor price adjustments if you receive your order after October 5.

also, see: https://us.store.bambulab.com/pag...ns?skr=yes which details actual prices.

X1 series:
X1C Combo $1199 ($250 discount)
X1C $999 ($200 discount)

P1 series:
P1S Combo $749 ($100 discount)
P1S $549 ($50 discount)
P1P $449 ($50 discount)

Limited Offer for all P1 series:
Mystery Maker's Supply Box
OR Mystery Filament Box (valued at up to $57)

A1 Series:
A1 mini/Combo no discount
A1 Combo $449 ($40 discount)
A1$299 ($40 discount)

For all A1 series:
Mystery Maker's Supply Box (valued at up to $27)

Automatic Material System:
AMS $249 ($100 discount)
AMS lite $199 ($50 discount)

For all AMS:
Extra 10% off for purchases of more than one unit

Edit: formatting
Honestly it sounds like you can't go wrong with Bambu printers, probably just get the most expensive one in your budget. I have several other older 3D printers and just ordered an A1 (no hands on experience yet, but highly recommend from a friend). If this is your first the A1 mini should be a good entry point if you're cost sensitive, but you'll likely outgrow it quickly and want a larger print area. If you can afford it the A1 combo which has a bigger print area and comes with the AMS lite to print multiple types/colors of filament should be something you can keep around for a long time even if you eventually want to upgrade. The key benefit of the P1S or X1C over A1 are that they are enclosed so you can print more exotic materials, but 99% of what most people print is PLA or PETG which the A1 or A1 mini excel at.

Looks like I can add the AMS lite to the A-1 at a later time, is that correct? (Not sure I'll need / want that right away).

After the printer, all I really need is filament then? Is there anything else to buy? (And does the filament come in a standard diameter and work with all toolheads? And is the 0.4 (stock) toolhead sufficient?)

Any other accessories or things that I'll really want / need?
I have the A1 with AMS lite. I got the AMS lite with the combo so I'd save $100. I'm up in the air on the value. I don't do many multi color prints but to be able to load up multiple spools of the same color is incredibly useful.

I'm happy so far with the .4 head.

Buy the printer and some filament. You can get it from Amazon, most brands are good. If the diameter of the spool is different, there are adapters you can print for them, but you wouldn't need those without the AMS lite.

I'm waiting for Bambou's multi-head printer. The AMS is compelling, but it's too wasteful when there are lots of color changes.

This is a great opportunity for existing an new 3D printing enthusiasts

The sale starts on October 21st so hold back ordering till then.

A1 mini with the 4 color AMS lite - $199 (Regular Price $299)
A1 with the 4 color AMS lite - $299 (Regular Price $399)
AMS lite - $199 (makes no sense to buy this, you might as well buy thee A1 Mini with the AMS for the same price)
X1C (Top of the range) - $999 (Regular price $1199)
P1S - $549 (Regular Price $699)

For those who are not familiar with 3D printers, Bambu labs is currently the undisputed king of 3D printers, there is nothing else close to being as good as it in the consumer market.

The A1 and A1 mini prices you quoted are not for the combo or even a free AMS lite (i.e. does not include AMS lite). I can see why it's misleading since they have the "Maker World Free Gift" right on top of the AMS lite, but you just get a free maker world model kit.

Yes a bit, except the same for the A1 mini.

X1C Combo worth the +$350 over the P1S Combo? Beyond the Bambu site product comparison, any good articles or videos to recommend on comparing the two? Great to see these BF deals so early!
I would say no. Basically you get a better camera, aluminum instead of plastic case, better/bigger/touch screen, lidar that people say is buggy, and first layer failure detection that doesn't seem amazing either. It also has hardened nozel and gears, and a hotter bed, but you can put the nozel/gears on a P1S for cheap, and you can put a resistor on the P1S to get the bed temp higher if needed (only for more exotic $$ materials). If you are like 99% of people you probably just need the A1 honestly. P1S and X1C just add more materials you can print, but most things you see people print are with materials the A1 does.

Then get your wallet ready. The upcoming printer is going to be probably $4-7k.

Have never 3d printed in my life. On a whim bought the p1s recently and it's amazing. It's been going non stop for two weeks and I've had one failure that took me 15 mins to resolve. It's a workhorse and is just amazing. I would recommend the p1s for anyone starting out. The carbon is nice but frankly I don't see myself using any of the exotic materials and it's way more expensive for 10 percent more utility (imo)
Like I said above you can modify your P1S to print everything the X1C can for pretty cheap, they really are a great deal. Picking up the P1S combo when this sale starts too!
