I have an older model of this. Had it for over 10 years. Been working great. My only complaint is when removing the handle and tube to use the crevice tool, it's very cumbersome to use. The U shape of the handle makes you fight a little when maneuvering when trying to vacuum the couch or other weird areas.

I've never had a strong opinion about vacuums before, but we got this (or very similar) a couple years back and it is an incredible vacuum. Very easy to use and does a GREAT job on both my hardwoods and area rugs. Big bang for your buck, in my opinion.

What's the difference between this one and the slightly more expensive option.

The color is the only difference. The NV360/NV352 have been in production for over ten years. There is literally no difference between the motor, brush roll, or any other part aside from maybe attachments? My mom had an NV352 for 15 years before the cord finally started showing signs of wear and it was too dangerous to use. Otherwise it still ran completely fine.

I typically use wire nuts, a zip tie, and some electrical or duct tape to attach a spare vacuum cord that I keep laying around. Glad to know there units run forever.

Between different family members we've had three of these. They're pretty durable and I've always been able to fix them or find a part online when I needed it. Would recommend.

But you do need to change the filters! Plan on doing that every six months or so.

Here is the answer from one of the AI bot:

Based on the search results and available information, here are the main differences between the Shark Navigator NV352 and CU512 models:
1. Dust cup capacity:
• CU512: Larger capacity of 14 pounds (1.4 quarts)
• NV352: 1.1 quarts
2. Model designation:
• CU512: Part of the "XL" line, indicating larger dust bin
• NV352: Standard Navigator model
3. Weight:
• CU512: 15.5 pounds
• NV352: 12.5 pounds
4. Dimensions:
• CU512: 15.75"L x 12.2"W x 45.67"H
• NV352: 15"L x 11.4"W x 45.5"H
5. Cord length:
• CU512: 35 feet
• NV352: 25 feet
6. Price:
• CU512: Often priced lower, potentially offering better value
7. Release date:
• CU512: Newer model
• NV352: Older, more established model
Both models share core features such as:
• Lift-Away technology for portable cleaning
• HEPA filtration and Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology
• Ability to switch between carpet and hard floor cleaning modes
The CU512, being the newer model, likely incorporates some refinements and improvements over the older NV352 design, particularly in terms of dust capacity and cord length. However, specific information about accessories and attachments for the CU512 is limited in the provided search results.
