Dells throw an error when not using the official charger. It should work but you're better off tracking down the OEM Dell charger used for less money.

Indeed the Dell chargers are proprietary. My work Dell 140W "USB-C" charger will stay fixed at 20V, and it'll go over 5 amps to reach 140W. USB-C PD 3.1 caps amperage at 5 amps, then adjusts the voltage up 28V (max spec is 48V for 240W). So no USB-C PD charger will be able to supply full power for Dell laptops that exceed 100W.
