It's an okay game. Bought it for my son because he loves Sonic. I do to but this one didn't feel as good. There are some okay levels but most of your time is spent in the overworlds. Which I like to refer to as kind of like a theme park simulator. Lots of speed boosts, rails to grind on, springs to bounce on just kinda randomly all over the place. Most of them used to find hearts which you give to any to advance the story.

I dunno to me it doesn't feel very exciting but it's not a bad game. A little bland. It's a good price but in all honestly I'd prefer Sonic Superstars over this

The game has received numerous patches and content additions since its launch. In my personal opinion, they greatly improved the game and address many of the flaws noted in reviews. There's even a new story mode that adds 15 hours of playtime.

I highly recommend this game if you enjoy Sonic.

I think I got this cheaper digitally. I think it's a pretty great Sonic game. I've been gaming them since the originals.

I completely agree with you here. I for example do like 1,2,3,K, and Mania and do like this one but the open world genre is just not my thing.

Genre is not the issue of the game, at all.

Keep in mind the PS4 (and Pro) version is only 30 FPS. Which for a fast paced game with lots of stuff going on visually is too jarring for me.
