I've never had problem machine washing bamboo. I have some that have gone through the dishwasher multiple times a week for years with no apparent damage.

Remember not to machine wash wood or leave it soaking in water.

Customers like the build quality, appearance, and value of the food spatula. They mention it's well-built, holds up to a lot of cooking, and looks nice. Some are satisfied with the use and ease of cleaning. However, some customers have reported that the utensils have some splinters and a jagged edge that could spit off. They also dislike the finish and have mixed opinions on its functionality.

Something shady going on here.... The same set is noted on the page as $45.00 and seems to be the same size and qty but the cheap set only shows 39% off. Also, the regular price for the one on sale went up a few bucks back in May.

The $45 one is a 6-pack of sets of 6. It says "Sold as a pack of 6 sets for a total of 36 tools."

I have done the same thing...Stuck in the dishwasher and no problems after...Though I did make sure it was totally dry before putting them away.

Actually, bamboo utensils are dishwasher safe. I've had bamboo utensils like this for years. Always in the dishwasher on high heat. No problems or smell.

Cutting boards and the like that are bamboo pieces glued together is another story. Those will get destroyed in a dishwasher or leaving them wet.

As long as it's a solid piece of bamboo, you're good.

Isn't splinters an issue with wood anyway?

I have a set like this from probably early 2000 and it's had no issues whatsoever.

I have a set of these that have gone in the dishwasher multiple times a week for years. The only issue is that they are a bit lighter in color. In for a new set.

This is kind of stupid. But how do you care for wood utensils. I'm really trying to stay away from plastic. Am I to treat it first. Just wash after use normal and not soak?

If staying away from plastic, stainless steel best way IMO. Lasts long time, easiest to clean

Not stupid at all. Bamboo may be different but generally with wood, you hand wash it and occasionally apply food safe mineral oil to keep the surface coated.

easier to scratch surfaces though, utensils are best if stainless, a lot of frying activities is better with stainless no doubt, but more practical with wood, and bambu is super tough
