Remember these are alkaline, as opposed to lithium. These are great for low voltage stuff, like remotes. They don't last as long and their voltage diminishes towards the end of their cycle, but they're very inexpensive.

That may be true but it so much more pervasive with Duracell over any other brand. None of the no-names alkaline I have purchased seems to exhibit the same issue.

But frequent with some and pretty much unheard of with other brands. I stocked up when the Fujitsu Premium Alkaline battery sales happened (2015) and down to the last few now. To this date only one pair of AA batteries I used leaked and I'm at a loss why it happened, the rest used or still new have been in perfect shape.

You don't remember the days of the Rayovac batteries? They leaked so much that the prices were so low at that time.
